Happy 248th birthday, dear Jane Austen! Come celebrate and hear renowned
dress historian and Austen expert Hilary Davidson discuss her acclaimed new book, which features photos of Jane Austen’s surviving garments and accessories, including her jewelry, assembled for the first time ever. Jane Austen’s Wardrobe provides a unique glimpse inside the closet of a stylish dresser and genius writer.
Attendees will be able to buy a copy of the book at the meeting at a 10 percent
discount for $31.50 from Yale University Press for Dr. Davidson to sign. If you already have a copy, you may bring it to the meeting to be signed.
Enjoy a delicious full afternoon tea following the talk, complete with a selection of tea sandwiches, mini scones with jam and cream, cookies and dessert items, brewed coffee and tea. You may wish to come in period costume for an experience that will be enhanced by our beautiful venue, an historic mansion perfect for memorable photos or video: see images and more info on it here:

Registration for this event starts at $60.00. In honor of Jane Austen’s birthday,
JASNA-NYM is subsidizing the costs of the venue, catering, and other expenses for our members to keep this fee as low as possible for you. Donations to support the event are welcome!
