British Galleries Tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art

JASNA NY Metro members are invited to join for group tours of the British Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

These galleries, which showcase British decorative arts, design, and sculpture created between 1500 and 1900, reopened in 2020 after a six-year closure with numerous new acquisitions and expanded historical context. JASNA New York Metro has arranged a pair of small-group private tours on the afternoon of Saturday, May 13; our tour guide will focus on objects created during Jane Austen’s lifetime or otherwise relevant to our shared interests.

Each session will last about an hour and cover a cluster of 6 to 7 gallery spaces. While there is certainly walking involved, we won’t be moving through the whole museum or traveling at a rapid pace.
