What does Juvenilia mean?
Juvenilia is a term applied to literary, musical, or artistic works produced by an author during his or her youth. Jane Austen’s earlier literary works are often referred to as Juvenilia.
What is JASNA-NY Juvenilia?
JASNA-NY Juvenilia is comprised Jane Austen Society of North America, New York Metropolitan Region (JASNA-NY) members who are 45 years of age and under. Aside from participating in JASNA events, Juvenilia members hold their own meetings and outings. Among their annual events are a Valentine’s Day dinner, afternoon tea, Trip to Lyme (also known as a visit to the beach), and a winter holiday party complete with a book swap. They also gather each month to discuss novels, play games, or see (mostly British) films.
Is Juvenilia right for me?
Any JASNA member under 45 living in the New York tri-state area who has a passion for Jane Austen, her novels, or the era in which she lived is invited to join.
